Can varicoceles be caused by inguinal hernia?

An inguinal hernia causing varicoceles can be complicated, but it is extremely rare. One study says that 20% of adolescents have varicoceles and it usually causes no symptoms. 

For many men, this may come as a shock during a routine physical exam or a fertility evaluation. In most cases, varicoceles do not require treatment or cause a problem. However, some may face complications such as infertility or shrinkage of the affected testicle. 

Varicoceles occur when the valves inside the veins prevent the blood flow. When blood flow stops, the blood backs up and causes the veins to enlarge. This may damage the testicle and result in Infertility. Many experts believe a Varicocele usually occurs on the left side. It can be treated easily with Open surgical ligation or non-surgical treatment. However, if you experience pain in your scrotum, or notice that testicles are different sizes, contact your doctor.
