What are the major causes of a right inguinal hernia?
Seniors and men have a higher chance of getting a right inguinal hernia. An inguinal hernia occurs when a tissue or organ pokes through the abdominal muscle near your groin. Such hernias typically develop on the right side of the groin. If you feel pain while coughing, exercising, or may have a full sensation in the groin, consult the doctor.
Some major causes of a right inguinal hernia are
- Health conditions such as chronic cough and chronic constipation can aggravate this type of hernia.
- Having a prior inguinal hernia and a family history of this condition may increase your chances.
- Weakening muscles during adulthood may also lead to an inguinal hernia. It is one of the major contributors to such hernias. Lifting heavy weights or strenuous activity puts a strain on the abdominal muscle that may further cause a right inguinal hernia.
